WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT
- 380 HP, and nothing in Pitch Black goes higher. That is the wall your opponent has to break through before taking a Prize.
- Falling Down hits for 270 on 5 Energy. Nothing in Pitch Black hits harder for that price.
- Wailord ex runs it in 20 of the 20 lists we have read, seen across 18 different tournaments.
- Mark J. The next rotation takes mark H away, so this one stays tournament legal.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
- Retreat cost 4. Once it is out front, it stays there. Pack something that moves it another way, or you will burn whole turns discarding Energy.
- It is an ex card. The turn it goes down your opponent takes two Prizes instead of one, and games do turn on exactly that.
- Weakness Lightning ×2. Against a Lightning Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 1,351 tournament lists we have read, 110 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
