What Pokémon card boxes are worth

A word on the number. For a card we give you the average of the week's sales. For a box that is impossible: a booster box from 2003 does not sell every week, so there is no average to take. What you read here is Cardmarket's estimate for today, with the cheapest one actually for sale beside it when there is one. Two numbers that look alike means a price that holds.

The ones we cannot be sure about

These would sit right at the top of the table — the first one is past ninety thousand euros. They are not there, and here is why: their price rests on a single number that nothing else backs up. On one, the stated average is a hundred and fifty euros next to an estimate of twenty-four thousand. On another, somebody is asking two hundred and fifty thousand and nobody is paying it. These are pieces that change hands once a decade: there are not enough sales for a price to mean anything. We show them anyway, because hiding them would be pretending we knew.
